Two day event – 19th and 20th September 2008
Nomensa’s head of accessibility, Léonie Watson, has been invited to speak at London’s Scripting Enabled conference. The aim of the conference is to break down the barriers between disabled users and the social web as much as giving ethical hackers real world issues to solve.
Improving web accessibility has long been talked about; Scripting Enabled is there to encourage this to actually happen. The event takes place over two days; a fact finding day and a hack day.
Where and when?
Day One: 19/09/08 - Fact finding (presentations)
Henry Thomas Room of the Metropolitan University of London at 166-220 Holloway Road, London N7 8DB.
Day Two: 20/09/08 - Hack Day (practice what we heard on day One)

“Barriers for Screenreaders and how JavaScript can help”
Léonie Watson will be speaking at 14.00 with Artur Ortega of Yahoo! – their session is titled “Barriers for Screenreaders and how JavaScript can help”. Watson is looking forward to the conference, commenting:
Scripting Enabled represents and excellent opportunity to bring together people, problems and solutions. I'm delighted to bring some user experience insight into this innovate approach to breaking down barriers.
